Overview
Idealism includes views that make reality itself fundamentally mental and views that make our knowledge of reality depend on the structures of experience or thought. It does not by itself imply that ordinary objects are merely private imaginings.

Fichte, Schelling, and Hegel radicalized Kant's transcendental idealism: a thing must be an object for consciousness to be an object at all, so mind or spirit is constitutive of reality's knowable form.
